Yo!Bot
A little tracked robot that uses your smartphone as it's brain.

While I had previously successfully exploited alternative means of communicating with smart devices, I investigated robotics. The end result is Yo!Bot, and the re-branded Bigtrak Rover. Using nothing but light from the phone screen as communication, the bot can drive around. There are no real electronics inside Yo!Bot, just an h-bridge and 4 LDRs. Lighting up specific parts of the screen triggers an LDR, in turn triggering the h-bridge to drive the motors. Extremely simple and very low cost - no wireless tech!
Using the RTMFP protocol, commands can be sent from a control device to the device inserted in Yo!Bot, the device in Yo!Bot in turn streams video from the camera back to the controller. This feature turns a simple motorised track set into a fully controllable wifi camera robot.
